Scattered Thoughts

I'm not sure why this posting carries that title as most of my thoughts are fairly scattered.

I've been crazy busy helping to write the 2nd keyboard (strings) book for Producers. It's been a really great experience and between this, re-writing the Peter Pan music and transposing music fo 'The King and I' I feel like I'm really learning how to use Sibelius. So all in all I'm glad to have had the chance to work on all these projects. (Though I would kinda kill for just a get out jail free day to play in the sun)

I can't wait to get back to the NY. And I just found out Lacey (one of my besties) is going to come hang out for a few days. Can't wait.

As my summer draws to a close it will be sad to say goodbye to a few people this summer. I didn't get to know everyone as well as I would like to have since I was kinda slammed and a little anti-social but I did enjoy working with pretty much everyone. And I feel like I have a little stronger grasp on my bits and takes thanks to Steven Dalke.

Well, I'm gonna head to bed and try to push through the last of my transcription work in the morning.

RUN DON'T WALK. . .

To see Lady in the Water - the best worst movie of the year. I don't want to give away anything away, not that it would really help you understand the movie anyway but you have to see it.

The plot is ridiculous and ever changing the rules but not in a good way. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Go with someone and just make quiet snide comments the whole time. You really won't be able to help yourself.

Thank you M. Night. Thank you.

Flying, Crashing and other thoughts

Peter Pan is up and running. Or flying should I say. Or maybe I should say wiping out. The show is going really well saving the few minor catastrophes. Last saturday a wire got crossed and Michael Darling went flying into a set piece. It gave us all our first hand 'Peter Pan' horror story that everyone in theatre seems to have.

Overall though it's going very well. I'm really happy with how the music turned out. And I'm very excited to not have to be chained to my laptop working on it any more. Though I will be starting work on the Producers keyboard book soon so I guess my reprieve from the computer will be short lived.

Peter Pan is definitely a fun show to conduct nightly. The flying is fun and it's short and sweet.

Pippin starts pretty soon which will be a 180 from PP. Should be fun or at least pass the time:)
